Do not look upon Tamil as merely a language. Tamil existed even before stone and earth came into being. Before stone and earth appeared, Light came into existence, and with that Light, Tamil also emerged.
The very origin of the Universe is Tamil. That is why Tamil is expressed through the five sacred syllables: Ith, A, M, I, Zh. From Ith, the primordial fire, from the primordial light, the stillness began to move and harmonize. It then manifested as the Pranava Nada (Om). From that Om emerged its very essence as Divine Light.
