In the 22nd Velvi Discourse, Gurumahan Talks About Mayan’s Prediction of the World Ending on 21-12-2012 and Explains How Collective Pure Thoughts Can Transform Destiny!

At present, the region that is now surrounded by the sea was once part of a vast continent called Lemuria. Even before the age of advanced civilizations, its people developed a remarkable civilization, established Sangams, and nurtured the Tamil language. That was the land where the Tamil people lived, the ancient people who are said to have existed before stone and soil came into being. From that land emerged Deva Sirpan Mayan. Long ages ago, through his extraordinary inner perception, he studied and calculated the cycles of nature and the Universe and developed a profound science. The word *Veda* means experiential knowledge, true knowledge, and unchanging knowledge. That unchanging knowledge took the form of the Pranava Veda. As a concise explanation of the Pranava Veda, Mayan also composed the remarkable text *Ainthiram*.
It was Mayan who presented Tamil to the world as an ancient and classical language. That same Mayan, whose ideas continue to influence the world today, studied the origin of the Universe, calculated the conditions of the planets, and reasoned that whatever appears must one day disappear. He also indicated a time for that disappearance. Today, Mayan’s calendar and his records are widely discussed among the nations of the world. Based on messages interpreted from his writings, several films such as *2012* and others were created. Many scientists began to investigate whether the events described in that calendar could actually occur in the world. Scientists who study the Sun, those who study the Moon, researchers of earthquakes, tsunamis, cyclones, newly discovered planets, and environmental conditions all came together and asked, “Could what he said be correct?”
Many of their studies appear to support those possibilities. The deadline he specified is not next year, it is this year. 21-12-12. When the three numbers are added together, they become nine. Does not nine always signify destruction? An ending? Therefore, all of you must hold elevated thoughts in your spiritual practice. The only transformation needed in this world is a transformation of thought. Thoughts are what created this world. In the beginning, that thought existed as nothingness. From that state of nothingness, thought arose within the Universe itself. That is why all religions say that God created the Universe through His own resolve or intention.
That source stirred through its own thought.
Vaishnavism explains this through the image of Lord Vishnu reclining upon the cosmic ocean. When He opens His eyes, creation begins.
When He closes them while resting on Anantha Sayanam, the entire Universe withdraws back into Him. The philosophy of the Universe itself is contained within Vaishnavism. All Vedas and religions speak of the same truth. The primordial reality that existed in stillness, being unto itself, generated a vibration through its own thought.
Mayan called that vibration *time*. In his cosmic grammar, the primordial substance became the substance of time. Time became form. Form became the sphere. That sphere expanded everywhere and appeared as the world and the Universe. This philosophy explains how the primordial source, hidden in darkness, moved through its own thought. That movement became the sound of Om. From that Omkara sound arose manifestation as light. Mayan also perceived and recorded, many long ages ago, that light emerged from light. The one who described the origin of the Universe also calculated and wrote about its end. If this prediction proves correct, then with 21-12-12 this Earth itself will cease to exist. Should we not change this? We must change even the destiny outlined by Mayan through our wisdom and pure thoughts. For although everything that appears will one day disappear, this is not the time for the Universe to come to an end. That is why countless rishis and siddhas participate in the Velvi. When all their guidance and counsel come together, they share one common purpose: this Universe must be protected. Who is there to protect it? We are here.
That is why the principle is: first become, then make others become.
