In the 12th Velvi discourse, Gurumahan explains the deeper meaning of the 11:11 and also creates awareness on why we return to sensual pleasure even after tasting Supreme Bliss!

You have deep devotion, faith, and trust in the Guru. The purpose of the twelve Velvis (Holy Penance)  is only one. The Guru wishes that every disciple and true devotee who comes to Him should receive the grace of the Almighty and rise to the highest state by becoming one with the Divine. Even after eleven Velvis, you remain unchanged. You praise the strength of the Guru and the disciples, but will you truly transform so easily?
You say, “Even if we fast without food, sleep, speech, or sight, you cannot turn us quickly toward God. You may remain united with Him if you wish. We have come to this earth and we want to experience this worldly life fully. Why did God give us the five senses? The eyes are to see, the ears are to hear, the nose is to smell, the tongue is to taste and speak, and the hands and legs are to move and search. We do not know exactly what we are searching for, but we feel the need to search. You have already experienced and realized the Truth, so you speak joyfully about that state. We still have many things to taste and many places to see. After we feel complete in these experiences, then we will think about supreme bliss. You are there for us. Whenever we return, you will guide us again. We have that faith. So we continue to experience life through the senses. If the Velvis had truly given results, would you not all be living as liberated beings (JivanMukthi)? Pleasure and pain belong only to the body, not to the soul.”
The number eleven holds special meaning. The great Guru Paranjothi Gnanavallal attained enlightenment on 11.11.1911 at 11 hours 11 minutes and 11 seconds. Those who have firm faith in the Guru often notice 11.11 appearing again and again. There is a deep connection with this number. It seems those who are expressions of the Divine respond to it.
Every day we take a vow to establish Sathya Yuga before the year 2000. Whether we establish it or the Guru establishes it, we will join in it. Any discipline takes twelve years to mature. The twelfth year becomes the great Yagna for world welfare. During this Yagna, the wisdom teachers and the seekers stayed with the Guru for twenty one days. They fasted even without water and resolved to gain true realization.
What is that realization? When you know the One, you know everything. That One is Brahman. Brahman is Truth. Brahman is eternal and everlasting. It never changes and never disappears. In the beginning only that One existed. From that One everything has emerged. What was once one Supreme Light now shines through all. Each of you is truly a manifestation of that Supreme Brahman.
