In the 11th Velvi discourse, Gurumahan reveals that the root of human suffering lies in our ignorance of our true nature and the limitless potential within us.

Every soul holds limitless power within. What is this vast universe made of? When we observe carefully, everything we see (solid, liquid, gas, or subtle space) is formed from atoms. If we study a single atom, we discover that the energy within it is the very energy that fills the entire Universe. Within an atom there is darkness, thought, sound, light, and movement, just like the Universe itself. Electrons revolve within it, showing that the whole cosmos is reflected in the smallest unit.
If such power exists in one atom, think of the human body, which contains billions of living cells. In each of these lives the energy of the Universe is present. You are not weak. You are not poor. You are not ignorant. You are beings filled with strength and vast intelligence. The only reason for human suffering is not knowing who you truly are. When you lose your inner sovereignty and drift away from your center, pain begins. So know yourself. Trust yourself. Believe in yourself. Think, “I am a part of this Universe. I am a spark of the Supreme Light. I am a child of the Divine.”
Thought is powerful. A human being shapes even the body through thought. If you keep affirming, “I am love,” again and again, you begin to become love itself. Even if someone hurts you, patience will arise naturally. When a thought reaches its peak, it imprints itself deep within the life-force and awakens countless other life-cells. Instantly the body and mind become energized.
Consider this: if you merely think that a food is unpleasant, nausea can arise even before you taste it. A single thought can activate the mind, the nerves, the glands, and the muscles, producing a physical reaction. In the same way, when someone praises us as wise or noble, joy rises within. How much greater it is when a Guru recognizes our greatness and calls us O! Wise ones!. Do not doubt such words. They are spoken with awareness.
