Why is Offering food donation to Yogis considered highest form of Dharma? - 7th Velvi (1997)

Santhosam Season 7 Episode 6

In this discourse from the 7th Velvi (1997), Gurumahan explains the deep significance of offering annadāna to yogis.

Offering satvic food to a yogi is the greatest of all charities. Compared to feeding countless people, offering food to a virtuous person, a pure soul, a yogi, is the highest act of generosity of all forms of giving.
Therefore, let people cultivate the noble human quality of generosity, and by organizing this annadanam (food offering) every month, may they help bring about a Sathya Yuga through selfless, voluntary yogis.
May this annadanam, which relieves the hunger of those who come with such selfless intent, uplift your life and elevate your family as well.
