Santhosam Podcast: Guiding Light of Spiritual Wisdom
Is spirituality about just ritual worship of God — or realizing the divine state within oneself? | ஆன்மீகம் என்றால் இறை வழிபாட்டு சடங்குகளா… அல்லது இறைநிலையைத் தன்னுள் உணர்வதா?
In the 8th Velvi, Gurumahan gives away a powerful reminder that temples were built not for ritual alone, but to awaken humanity to its divine origin and lived spiritual experience.
The universe unfolds exactly according to what the all-powerful Divine wills. They say not even an atom moves without Him. Yes, just as that divine will exists, the path of the Siddhars, who realized God within their own consciousness, also existed and continues to exist. Having realized the Self, these great Siddhars taught humanity that God is one, and that this one God may be worshipped in many forms. Ultimately, by realizing reality as it truly is, one attains the wisdom of Self-knowledge, experiences bliss, then supreme bliss, and through that supreme bliss gains the spiritual maturity to see all beings as oneself. From such lived experiences arose the systems of temple worship.
Yet even today, people go to temples without understanding their inner meaning, why temples were built, how the Divine within the temple is to be worshipped. We worship outwardly, but we do not truly worship with the mind. Therefore, in this Holy Penance, all participants are guided to experience emotional awareness, perceptive awareness, and conscious awareness corresponding to body, mind, and intellect and also the MeiUnarvu (Divine vibration) that transcends these three. Although countless Vedas, religions, epics, Puranas, prophecies, yogis, and saints have repeatedly spoken and written about these truths and departed, now is the time to put them into practice.
Instead of merely speaking, this 8th World Welfare MahaDhava Velvi seeks to make people realize these truths experientially. Each day, through various practices, participants are enabled to experience the awareness called the Atma. Through this, children and school students are taught clearly and beautifully: What is the Atma? Who is a human being? What are all living beings in the world? From what are all manifested objects created? We are all one; we all come from that Supreme Absolute, from God. Every living being exists according to its inherent nature. Human beings too have an inherent nature, a divine nature, because the all-powerful Supreme Absolute created the human being in the final stage of evolution in His own likeness.
