Santhosam Podcast: Guiding Light of Spiritual Wisdom

7thVelvi(1997) - The Purpose of 7th Holy Penance for Universal well-being! 7ஆவது பிரபஞ்ச நல மகாதவ வேள்வியின் நோக்கம்!

Santhosam Season 7 Episode 3

Even if a person is guilty in their own eyes or in the eyes of others, no one can ever be guilty before a Guru. A Guru never sees faults; his only duty is to remove the suffering of those who seek him. A disciple approaches a Guru to acquire faultless qualities.
A mirror helps us correct our outward appearance, but who reveals our inner flaws? That is the role of a Guru. At times, the Guru may appear strict and point out faults directly; at other times, he removes them without the disciple’s awareness. Such is a true Guru. Verbal correction is often unnecessary, for the Guru already knows each person’s condition and circumstances.
Thus, the true duty of a Guru is to remove the faults of sincere disciples silently. What is required of disciples is worthiness. They must cultivate the right qualifications, for “humility bestows wisdom.” One cannot casually ask a Guru for Diksha or Kundalini awakening. Even to borrow a small amount of money, one must ask with humility—how much more humility is required to receive supreme knowledge?
This supreme knowledge is called Brahma Vidya. It is not ordinary knowledge. Hence, learning is classified into Para Vidya (higher knowledge) and Apara Vidya (lower knowledge), leading to Para Jnana and Apara Jnana. To attain Brahma Vidya, one must be ready to renounce everything—even life itself. True wisdom must be sought at any cost.
The proverb “Run across the roaring seas to seek wealth” does not refer to material riches, but to the true wealth—Mei Porul (the ultimate essence). When this essence is realized, all powers become accessible. There is no age limit, for everything already lies hidden within us.
That supreme power is embedded in the inner self. Through tapas and disciplined practice, it is brought forth. Education itself means “that which causes inner awakening.” Divine energies and countless powers reside within us, but to manifest them, we need a tool—and that tool is meditation.
The time is approaching when humanity will express the divinity within. In earlier ages, humans were dominated by animal instincts. In 20th century, human qualities of compassion emerged. In the 21st century, divinity is awakening within humanity. Though many have not fully evolved yet, the next stage beyond humanity is divine grace.
For my beloved truth-seekers who live with compassion, the next phase of life is the divine life. The purpose of this Seventh Holy Penance for Satya Yuga is to awaken that divinity. Though we undertake this penance every year, its ultimate aim is physical well-being and world peace.
