The Guru’s Sacrifice – Holy Penance Protects earth and Universe from great destruction | குருவின் தியாகம் - பூமியில் ஏற்படுகின்ற அழிவைத் தடுத்து, பிரபஞ்சதையே காக்கின்ற மகா தவ வேள்வி!

Santhosam Season 2 Episode 3

One who has realized God within sees the entire world as a reflection of the Divine, perceiving only the radiance of divinity and not the flaws of others. The purpose of this sacred penance—undertaken in silence, without food, sleep, or human contact—is to ensure that noble thoughts prevail and that the world attains auspiciousness. The suffering endured during these days cannot be expressed in words; remaining in one place, immersed in the highest state of consciousness, even within three days mothers pray earnestly, asking if the Guru will end the penance. At times the knees ache, sleep is impossible, and even closing the eyes becomes difficult, yet the pain is borne just as a mother protects her child, a village head sacrifices for his people, or a governor endures hardship for the nation. My duty is not only toward humanity or Earth but toward the happiness of the entire Universe.

Calamities lie ahead for this world. Just as a mother worries when her child plays in the rain, Yoga teaches that prevention is better than cure, for transformation after disaster is difficult. What is needed is recognition of one’s mistakes and change from within. Many transcend the body to communicate with siddhars, who often say, “Let the right time come.” But why wait until all are gone for a new world to be established? The right time is now. I have questioned Jnanis, Gurus, sages, and Maharishis: even when witnessing the suffering of people, why do your hearts not melt? In response, these enlightened beings have united in support of this penance, urging me to strive with all my strength so that the world may benefit.

If even one good soul can bring rain, why should I not be that soul? If my suffering can bring auspiciousness to the world, I am prepared to surrender this body. Yet deep compassion for humanity restrains me, for the people still need guidance and care.
