Quality sleep is crucial for revitalizing both the body and mind. Throughout the day, we engage in various activities for around 16 hours, which depletes our energy. To restore this energy and refresh ourselves, we require about 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. This restorative rest enhances the health of our cells, muscles, organs, and overall bodily systems.
Just as a mobile phone needs to be recharged after extensive use, our bodies also need sufficient sleep to recharge. In today's fast-paced world, achieving a state of deep, dreamless sleep can be challenging, leading to feelings of fatigue and a tendency to take naps during the day. This can result in a Tamasic state of being. To overcome this, we must rise above Tamas, move into a Rajasic state, and ultimately reach a Satvic state. Following a spiritual path can guide us toward this Satvic state, helping us transcend all three Gunas.
