Santhosam Podcast: Guiding Light of Spiritual Wisdom

What are the two states of Atma? ஆத்மாவின் நிலைகள் என்ன?

Santhosam

Two states of the Atma are : Paramatma (Higher Soul), Jeevatma (Lower Soul).

Paramatma represents the supreme soul with limitless wisdom, while Jeevatma denotes the individual soul with a limited intellect. The higher soul resides in Turiya (Crown Chakra) and signifies the state of Shiva. The lower soul represents Agnya Chakra and it is the Jeeva. Jeeva must connect with Shiva and become one with it. Jeeva is bound by attachments with the body, mind, and intellect and goes through joys and sorrows of life. The constant witness of all life events including happiness and grief is the higher soul or the Paramatma. There is no joy or sorrow experienced by Paramatma because it transcends all life experiences and exists in a perpetual state of bliss. We must constantly contemplate the existence of the Paramatma inside us.
